Bucharest has a lot of restaurants and coffee shops. Romanians love to take lunch and dinner outdoors and they love to spend time with friends in locals.
The center of Bucharest, called the Old Town, is the place with the most numerous restaurants of the city.
Personally, I don’t love very much Romanian food. As I spent 12 years of my life in Italy, I got used to Italian food and now I definitely prefer the Italian one. For this reason I’m not passionate about the Romanian one.
Romanians for instance enjoy to eat meals with a lot of meat. All Romanian meals have meat and it’s kind of strange not having something with meat. They don’t like pasta or the Mediterranean food, they instead enjoy more the Turkish and the Russian one. I think that Romanian food is a mere combination of Turkish and Russian food.
The fact that I don’t enjoy Romanian food doesn’t actually mean that I don’t eat Romanian food at all. I do. Sometimes. Especially when I visit my grandmother or my parents-in-law.
Speaking of restaurants and Romanian food, I can recommend a restaurant that I truly liked. This restaurant is a Romanian one and it has only Romanian food. Even though I’m not a big fan of my native meals, this restaurant succeeds in preparing the food in a very tasty, and good way.
I’m talking about Caru’ cu Bere. This restaurant is located in the Old Town area and it is always crowded with tourists and Romanians people. If you plan to eat here, don’t forget to book a table first because the demand is always high.
My first time at this restaurant was last year in October. Me and my wife decided to experience some new restaurants and to discover Caru’ cu Bere’s food.
Our experience was very impressive. We didn’t expect to eat such a delicious and tasty food. Everything was perfect. The Romanian food in this place is not just mere Romanian food but is more than that. Is like eating some high-class Romanian food.
The waiters and everybody were also very professional, the place was clean and the atmosphere was really fascinating.
In December we went again at Caru’ cu Bere and we took dinner with our parents-in-law. They were impressed as well by everything.
If you are planning to visit Bucharest, don’t forget this beautiful restaurant!
